So my rabbit managed to pull up some of the puppy pads covering her cage and ate a little bit of scotch tape I use to keep them down. Should I be worried? It wasn’t that much, probably not even an inch square, but it is plastic and sticky so I’m afraid it won’t go thru?

Should I just keep feeding her lots of hay?

Will I be able to see it in her poop if it goes thru?

You should give hay and if you have any simethicone you can give that because it helps move stuff through. Other that that you can only monitor her, check that she’s eating and drinking, pooping and peeing, and acting her normal self. It’s not likely that you’d see any tape in the poop. Hopefully the stomach-acid will more or less dissolve it.

hmm I don’t have any, is it a medicine I can get at a drug store (cvs)? How much would I give her?

Simethicone is baby-gas drops. It has several names in different parts of the world, Mylicon f ex. Simethicone is the name of the substance. I think it’s available at Walmart and such places as well as drug stores. You can give like 0,5-1 ml, with a few hours in between doses.

I know bunnies are all different and are sensitive to different things, but my Henry has eaten worse and he’s had no side affects. I hate to admit this, but most of the time I don’t even know he’s eaten something naughty till the next day (dam bunny!). But I agree with bam, even if you don’t need it, it’s good the have Simethicone on hand, like we have Panadol (pain relief tablets for humans) on hand if we have a headache.
I don’t think for the small amount your bun ate it will cause any trauma – as bam said above in her first post, just keep an eye out and make sure her behaviour is normal.

PS – For everything that Henry has eaten that he shouldn’t – I’ve never seen anything in his poop! (unlike one of my dog’s – DOH!) Lol!

If you are in Australia blubudgie you can buy simethicone from the chemist under the brand name Infacol.

A small bit of nontoxic stuff, especially if it’s chewed up, almost always just passes through no problem. I wouldn’t give any medications when the chances that she actually needs it are slim, there is always the chance of side effects and bad reactions even to the generally safest medications. I would tape a wait and see approach and only give something if it looked like there actually was a blockage. As long as the litter box is filling at it’s normal pace all should be good.

Okay Tofu is definitely getting some smaller poops now. She is still pooping a lot but now some of them are very small and some are normal sized. I also recently introduced kale into her diet so I’m not sure if the poops are a reaction to that or the tape.
She is eating and drinking and playing normally
Should I call the vet? I bought some simethicone after seeing the tiny poops and I’ve given her only 0.3 ml

Alright update, took her to the vets and she said to just keep an eye on her and make sure she’s eating
She said simethicone can’t hurt but she doesn’t think it’s a gas problem

Glad your bunny is doing alright. Those little buggers love to scare us like that!
