I wonder if someone could give me some advise on brushing? Could someone recommend a brush that has worked well for them? I saw the hairbuster but I am from the UK and I don’t think It is sold here.

I have a brush (it’s not a very good one), and tried before and when doing it very lightly my rabbit was fine with it. To actually brush her properly I needed to do it a bit harder and then she jumps away. I don’t want to hurt her but I want to make sure her coat and fur is healthy. Is there a good time to brush, or any tips on how to get her to stay still ha ha.

        Thanks in advance !!

I usually groom Theodore when he’s eating so that he has more reason to stick around then hop away. But Theodore is a major foodie, so this technique works well for him (this is also how I clip his nails).

The HairBuster is great, but it may be hard to get. I’m not sure if BB ships to the UK, but they do have them in the online shop (http://store.binkybunny.com/hairbuster-p116.aspx?noredirect) so it’s worth a shot. If you can’t get your hands on one, though, a regular flea comb (http://blog-photos.dogvacay.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/p-18275-30986-smpet.jpg) can also work. They are sold at most pet supply stores.

Always make sure to use these combs so that the brush glides through the fur horizontally, parallel to the skin, as their skin is quite sensitive and the less you scrape it with a brush, the better.

I use a combo of the HairBuster and a soft dog brush (http://catsnco.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/soft_bristle_brush_02.jpg) that I got from a dollar store. It works great!

          Good luck!

Thanks for the advise FLR I will go to my local pet shop and have a look, they are quite good for stuff. Bella seems to tolerate my girlfriend brushing her, maybe it’s a woman’s touch ha ha

I usually hold Bun Bun and groom him since he doesn’t seem to stay still even when he’s eating. He doesn’t mind being held and purrs when I’m groom him so I don’t know why he doesn’t just stay still on the floor haha I use a Zoom Groom which is made for cats and there’s another version for dogs I think. They’re made by Kong and it’s basically a rubber curry comb so I’m sure your local tack shop will have it since rubber curry combs are used for horses also.
