        Hi everyone!

So, I finally got around to buying all the necessary items to make a bigger living area for Pongo, but now I’m hesitant about how to proceed with getting her used to her new digs.  (For those still stumped about where to get the cubes, I got mine on amazon – Whitmor 6256-978 Storage Cubes – the flooring is plywood and adhesive tiles from Lowe’s.  Fun fact for those of us without tools – they will cut pieces of wood for you – for free!  I’m sure other similar Home Improvement stores do the same.)  I put her old cage inside the new condo thinking that she would like having something familiar in this new home, and because it already has all the necessary items – litterpan, hay rack, food dish, water..  Here’s a picture of her in her new home:

I’m hoping to add a second level soon, but one thing at a time for now!  I was thinking of trying to transition her to a bigger hay rack/litter pan combo, thinking that it would be easier to clean up as the excess hay would probably fall into the litter pan….  I’d also like to move the litter pan closer to the front of the cage, so it’s easier for me to pull it out and clean it.  She likes the corn cob litter – if I just put that litter in the new litter pan next to the hay rack, will she get the idea?

Also, I have a lot of CareFresh bedding saved up that I used to line her cage with, but most of the condo pictures I’ve seen here and elsewhere don’t seem to have any bedding in them!  (It’s the soft, fluffy bedding.)  Does anyone put this sort of bedding in their condo?

I welcome any advice and words of wisdom – maybe I’m just overthinking this, but I know buns can be very particular about their living space, and I want Pongo to be a happy rabbit!  Thanks, y’all!

I use Carefresh as litter. I tried to change to pelleted litter and ended up with a major bunny revolt on my hands.

FWIW: When I moved mine to a condo I started by putting the cage in the condo and leaving it open, then graduated in a few days to taking the top off and using the bottom as a litterbox then removing it entirely and just having a smaller litterbox.
Queen chose where to put it.

Ours is carpeted with extra pieces of carpet but I just ordered a bunch of bunny mats to put in places on top of that.

Having litter everywhere seemed to make them think the whole thing was a litterbox.
