Can anyone guide me how many doses make up a complete course of Ivermectin ? Moshu was given an Ivermectin shot around the first week of October. That is the only Ivermectin shot she has ever been given. And, apart from Ivermectin, are there any other vaccinations that I must get done ? Thanks.

It’s best to contact (call or email) your vet directly, the one who gave the dose in the first place, or one you are now seeing, to get an answer to your question. Bunnies in the United States do not get any vaccinations, so I think it varies depending on where you live. Your vet will know for sure.

She gave one and asked me to come for the second dose. She said there should be gap of one month between the two doses. And then thats it. And then come again the next year. I just wanted to confirm since the doctors here can be money minded and call unnecessarily.

Did they say what it was for ? Usually it’s for control of mites and fleas, parasites in general. I use the topical spot on treatment in the form of Revolution Puppy and Kitten… BUT it would depend on the reason that a shot was given. In Australia you need vaccinations for Calici virus, we have myxo too but can’t get the vaccine where as it is readily available in other countries. Do some research and find out what threats are in your area.

She did not mention anything apart from Ivermectin. And she did not mention anything apart from de-worming. I was asking just in case I should get her vaccinated for anything else. I’ll ask her.
For how long is one shot of ivermectin effective ? 3 months ? Recently Moshu has been scratching her ears a bit. The Ivermetcin shot should have kept the ear mites in check. It could be just dry ears probably..its been only less than 3 months since her last shot.
