I’m lucky with this rescue, because I work at home and he lives in my office. We spend many hours together, and I get to interact with him all the time. Today Borys did something so funny.

He sometimes lays down a few pellets beside his litterbox right after I clean it. Just to let me know who it belongs to. I thought we were over that, but three days ago I had the nerve to forget to move his box to precisely the same spot after cleaning. I swear he has a laser measuring instrument.

Today he checked to see if I was looking, and I was around the corner. I could see him, but he didn’t know that. He stealthily gave the pellets a “pattycake” treatment, thumping them with both front paws at once. It looked as if he was kneading bread. He rapidly rolled them under the litter box, then did a big, satisfied flop. His head was where the pellets had been!

He’d unwisely dropped the pellets in his favorite spot. Which was the idea. But it became darned inconvenient.

I kicked over laughing (but not too loud). It was just like when a teenager refuses to pick up their stuff in front of the TV because you told them to, then they’re compelled to clean it up, otherwise they can’t watch their favorite show. They’re stuck.

Bunnies are so funny sometimes. Real little clowns.

LPT, he makes me laugh 50 times a day. I’m so fortunate to have him in my office. I think we should start advocating for bunnies to be “the perfect stress relieving work pet.”

Why not? Look at all the schools that have bunnies. So many bunnies could live in home offices or ones with closed doors, have decent exercise space and company all day!

The drawback: it wouldn’t be long before they’d be running the company. I won’t be surprised to find Borys reprogramming my computer. Or at least storing pellets in it.

That is hilarious! I wish you could’ve caught it on video! I was picturing a teenager shoving all his stuff under his bed quick before mom comes home! Too cute!

LLH, you’ll love it even more when I tell you: Borys is a Cinnamon Lionhead, like the ones in your photos. Since I’ve become so obsessed with him, I’ve been researching their genetics. Our rabbits are actually Agouti Chocolate Chestnut Cinnamon Buns! I swear this is true.

Borys is single mane, quite sparse as you can see in his photo. He has Tom Jones sideburns and a Rod Stewart haircut, which I sometimes brush forward with a damp finger (he thinks I’m licking him—ecstasy) so he looks like an old Legionnaire. There is a gap in wool for about an inch under his ears, so his mane really does look like haircut and sideburns.

I have to stop myself from laughing when he lays his chin on the ground for grooming, because his mane spreads out like a bushy mustache all around. He’s very serious and vulnerable when he does that, so I contain myself. In the six weeks since I plucked him off the road, he’s even let me groom him for a few minutes while he’s flopped!

Your buns are much woollier. Would you call them double maned? Do they have the “V” behind the ears and between the shoulders? If so, is it flat or woolly? Borys has a “V”, but it’s flat coat, not wool. It’s definitely “V for Vendetta.”

I’ve dealt with many buns over my lifetime, but I have never met such a personality. I do dread trimming his nails; I know it will result in many more stray pellets and serious growling.

Bunny Hugger I just have the one bun, Pumpkin. All the pictures are of her. My last bunny was a mini lop and I’m already seeing the personality differences. I love her crazy hair that sticks straight up! She was meatloafed earlier and she went to sleep with her ears straight back and somehow her mane of hair was laying straight back too!

She has the “V” kind of where i imagine her eyebrows would be. Then she has the hair that sticks up right behind her ears, otherwise her fur lays flat.

She LOVES to be pet. If you get anywhere near her, she either bumps you till you pet her or lays her head flat against the ground until you start petting!

You’llhave to get a pick of Borys with his chin on the ground! I would love to see this ‘stach!!

LLH, I’ll try. I’m wary of scaring him with the camera, so I’ll have to pick my moment. How do you post photos here? I don’t see an upload button.

If you click “Reply” in one of the posts above you should see an upload option. The “Quick Reply” doesn’t have that option.

Here’s the little clown. It was hard getting a close up, as the sound of the camera starting made him open his eyes and lift his chin a bit. But you get the idea. I enhanced the lighting a bit, so you can also see the “V” on his neck, and the dark hair tips that put this colour of Lionhead in the Agouti group.

Do you have large photos of Pumpkin? I tried enlarging yours by clicking, but it doesn’t do anything.

What happens when other bunnies hear about this Lifestyles of the Rich and Bunnylicious?  They’ll go on strike!

Seeing Pumpkin close up, I think she may be a Lilac Tort rather than a Chocolate Chestnut. I’m not sure, I’m new at this obsession. Do you know?

The only info we got from the shelter was “lion head”!

LLH — at least you got the info “lion head”, Kieko came from a pet store (my son bought her) and the store’s signs just say “bunny rabbit”!

LLH That alone should have been enough information to scare you.
