        I recently picked up a muni lop rabbit ( ruby) from pet shop are mini lops care different to other breeds as I don’t have a book on mini lops just rabbis shes 5 months has recently started buzzing around I understand this is hormones any ideas on how to help with this I knw getting spayed is a big one.. Also can you tell me how much she should weigh and correct amount to giver her, at the moment a covering of the bottom of a bowl of pellets morning and night a few bits a carrot and cucumber small pieces every few days and hay constant any help woupld be a ppreciated I also give her 1 cheerio every day before I leave for work is this ok

          The care for all rabbit breeds (except the grooming of long hair breeds) is pretty much the same. Obviously, the amount of food is going to be different. Bunnies need daily greens and unlimited hay. For great nutrition info, check out the “Bunny Info” section here at BB. Also see: http://rabbit.org/category/care/diet/

          At 5 months, her hormones are very active. There is really nothing you can do to discourage hormonal behavior other than spaying.

          Grains products are really not recommended for bunnies but I don’t think 1 Cheerio a day would be that harmful.

            Also, it’s highly recommended to get her spayed once she hits about 6 months, to reduce her otherwise high chances of developing reproductive cancers.
