Hi- we rescued our bunny last month from a busy street. Wounded and starving, we took her home, then to a recommended vet and she’s recovered now physically. We bought her a cage that we keep
In our dining room, after some initial experimenting, we ended up with two litter boxes at either end-one for hay and one with yesterday’s news. When she’s out roaming and playing, I empty the poop 2-3 times daily. At night lately though she started throwing both litter boxes around her cage. I’m not sure why or how to stop it. Help please!

This is usually an act of boredom and is also a sign of a teenage bun. One of mine is doing the same thing atm, and like yours seems to be doing it more at night time.
In the past, my rabbits have grown out of doing it so I am just letting my bunny Bucky continue with it at the moment and I just replace it and tell him he is silly.

Also, I just want to say how nice it is that you have rescued the bunny and have given it a new home

Heavy duty velcro works wonders. Just velcro the litterboxes to the bottom of the cage. Moshi used to drag their litterboxes around, even with Marlee in them. Velcro worked like a charm!

both of those are wonderful suggestions. I use velcro and its no longer an issue. Also, I would look into having something constructive for them to do in the cage. a place to dig, toys to play with, things that stimulate the mind will help out if your bun is bored.

I know this is 2 weeks old but I just had to point out how much your bun looks just like mine! who I rescued from a similar situation around what looks to be around the same time (ish)! Too weird

… Unless the bunny you’re referring to isn’t the one in your avatar.
