Oh I’m sorry – is it thymona? I think that keeping him comfortable is the only thing at this point as well. You want to try to keep him as calm as possible and if he starts breathing though his mouth, that is a sign that he needs to see the vet right away.

          Hugs to you and Prada.

I’m so sorry to hear that my bunny had nearly the same thing. 10 is a good life.

I’m so sorry for him and you. It’s so frustrating to not be able to do anything. 10 years is such an admirable age for a rabbit, you must be a great bunny parent.

                    We let him go yesterday.
It was such a hard decision to make. He still had an appetite, moved around slowly. But he was so thin. He fell when he moved too fast.
He could not get up from a fall yesterday. He was lying on the ground, soaked by his own urine. That was the last straw for us. We decided it was time.
The vet gave him oxygen, then Isoflurane before the injection. He passed away peacefully. His breathing was not labored in the final minutes of his life.
                    RIP, little guy.

Hugs to you – you made the right decision. I know it’s hard but being a good steward to our pets means making hard decisions like this. He’s in a better place now.

I’m so sorry. I once had a dog, when I was a teen, and he had bad hip dysplasia, and his feet dragged behind him, and he was incontinent, and had to be in the basement, but I was so afraid of letting him go, he suffered far longer than he should have. Ever since then, in his memory, I’ve made my pets comfortable at the end, but when they’re suffering, they don’t know a week or 2 months, pain is just pain, so I let them go when I need to. I’ll never again let a pet be in pain because I can’t say goodbye. You did the right thing, and I’m so sorry for your loss. Hugs!

Its a hard choice when they are still eating but that’s what rabbits do. Good job having your bun so long. You sound like you did everything just right!! Pravda will be missed, I can tell.

It’s hard to make the choice, but sounds like you made it at the right time. He had a long enjoyable life, and you gave him the gift of letting him go with dignity.
                                  *hugs to you*
