Our bun was found as a stray, and I don’t even know what type she is! Ideas?

She looks like a lop or helicopter ears (sort of like a lop but from incorrect breeding).

Oh my… She is the spitting image of my Maxie bun. Sadly he passed away last year…

Max was (to the best of our knowledge) either a full mini lop or a mini lop mix… Mixed with what I have no idea!

Max had fantastic ear control. He was able to hold them straight up for long periods of time. This seems to have a lot to do with the physical characteristics of the bunny’s individual head whether or not they have that type of control.

Either way, your girl is precious. Thank you saving her.

It’s funny you mention that, we’ve noticed since we found her how odd it is that one ear stands up and the other doesn’t! I didn’t know there was a name for that.

Aw they do look just alike! Sorry that you lost your pal. She has been such a joy since we got her, she was easy to save

She is a butterfly half lopped mutt rabbit. One parent could be a french lop while the other was a crossbreed, but there looks like there may be a bit of bevern thrown in there a few generations back. Also seeing a touch of rex.

Edit to GD29: her blood type is O+, she’s a Virgo and her parents were humble hay peddlers from the Northern Woods.

(Lol sorry, couldn’t resist. Your description was so detailed from one picture, it kinda made me giggle. like you just read her horoscope. no harm meant)

it’s hard to tell how big she is in the photo. Do you have an idea about how much she weighs? She looks to me like a holland lop or a mini lop, and I think the forum members could make a better guess if they had her weight (since holland lops generally top out at 4 lbs). She has adorable ‘helicopter’ ears, which are technically a ‘fault’ but I find totally charming (one of my rabbits has them, and I think she’s the best looking bunny ever).

Her ears look pretty short, suggesting a small dwarf breed. But, her body shape and long face suggests a larger breed.

So, my guess is a holland lop mixed with a larger uppy eared breed. Or, a french or mini lop mixed with a dwarf uppy eared breed.

She could even be a pure bred mini lop who just really really doesn’t meet standards.

Helicopter ears are so fun to watch bounce around when they hop. And one ear up on ear down is like getting two rabbits in one.
