I ordered some baskets from here because I LOVE the basket idea but I know the local thrift store carries tons of baskets as well.

I feel lame  asking this but…how do I know if a basket is untreated? Or the correct material?

A lot of it is the texture – obviously you want to stay away from anything glossy, shiny, or clearly covered in some type of paint or varnish. You want to be looking at dry, plain wicker, which can be dark or light in color.
