I got back from Canada around September 3rd and noticed my rabbit was shedding a lot, even though he’d just molted maybe a couple weeks before. I took him to the vet maybe a week later, not for the shedding but a check up, and they didn’t note anything wrong with him. However, it’s now mid-October and he is still shedding at molt levels. He doesn’t appear to have any bald spots, though? He’s also eating and drinking and running around properly.

Could this just be a really long molt or is there something else it could be?

Sorry broken, but if your bunny is anything like mine – my condolences now! Henry sheds 24/7 all year long, and I hate it!!! For the longest time I complained that I couldn’t pick my bunny up, now that I can – I DON’T want tooooo! My house has a constant layer of bunny fluff on every surface, and big balls of it floating throughout my house, and even after a pat him I have to wash the fluff off my hands – it’s horrible!
What I do to be able to vacuum him everyday!!! I’m sure my house and myself would be a lot cleaner??? Ha ha ha…..

          Bugga!

I’m in the same boat with one of mine. Bumpy stays in a constant state of shedding. I’m guessing it’s due to the controlled climate, instead of like when they are living outside where they would normally blow their coats when warm weather hits.

It isn’t unusual for buns to shed is seemingly large quantities for extended periods of time.

I just never noticed him shed this much! I tend to wear darker clothes too and his swarms of white hair get everywhere. Thanks for the input, I’ve been concerned for a while.
