Our rabbit is holding a grudge against me after the carrier I was carrying it in was knocked out of my hands and dropped. Happened when a neighbors kid hit me with a baseball on my way out to the car.

Now she thumps whenever she sees me and basically tries to hide when she hears me coming. This was a couple of weeks ago and I have been trying to bribe her with treats and extra playtime.

Anything I can do to fix this? I realize this was a traumatic experince, but it was an accident. Any advice is appreciated.

Oh wow, how absolutely dreadful for you both! D: The best you can do is to continue quietly spending time with her and not trying to approach her too directly, and KEEP BRINGING THOSE (HEALTHY) TREATS!!!! It may take her some time yo forgive you, but she will eventually. C:

it takes time. it’s kind of funny to think that bunnies hold grudges but I think they do.

My bun didn’t like to be held but was okay to be picked up. After I took her to get spayed, she has been upset at me. She won’t let me pick her up at all. Slowly i am able to again but its like she knew i was the evil person that did this to her lol

it takes time and don’t be forceful, you’ll earn the trust again
