How old is he? Here’s a diet for a rabbit around 1 year old and up.
          – Fresh, clean, cool water. I change my rabbits’ water two times a day. Most rabbits prefer drinking from bowls rather than bottles. But I provide both (I usually change the bottle every other day though because they don’t drink it as much as the bowl.)

-1/4 cup of rabbit pellets (no colors, dried fruits, or nuts. Just plain green/brown pellets. I really like and reccomend Oxbow Adult Rabbit T. Make sure they are made up of timothy hay no alfalfa (alfalfa has too much calcium and makes rabbits fat.)

-At least 3 cups of 3 different types of fresh leafy veggies. I have 2 bunnies, and they both share about 8 cups each day. They usually get a base to their salad such as romaine lettuce or red leaf, they get about 1/2 bunch of cilantro, and either parsley, kale, swiss chard, etc. as an add in. Here’s a link to veggies that are and aren’t safe for rabbits. http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/rabbits/tips/rabbit_vegetables.html

          – The most important is hay! Your rabbit should eat at least it’s body size in grass hay every day. You can feed timothy, orchard grass, oat, or any other grass hay. NO ALFALFA or clover hays. I buy mine from a farm. It’s very fresh, really green, and my bunnies love it. The stuff at the petstore tends to be sitting on shelves for awhile, brown, and unflavorful. My bunnies much prefer farm hay than storebought hay.

Hope I helped and feel free to ask any more concerns you have!

Wow, Thank you so much for this amazing info! My bunny just truned 6 months old. I think I might be feeding him Alfalfa hay and pellets(im not sure, I need to check) but I have noticing that he isnt eating his hay a lot and I’m not sure why.

Also is there a page that has good food to feed your rabbit?

By food do you mean diet in general?

Here’s a link for a rabbit’s diet that I found very helpful when I first got into keeping rabbits. Switch the pellets to a timothy based (if you think he is done growing) gradually over the course of 1-2 weeks. For hay, also stop feeding him the alfalfa, and switch to a grass hay (timothy, orchard, oat, etc.) for picky rabbits, we (at a rescue I volunteer at), mix as many hay types as we can together. Oat hay is a big hit for most of the rabbits here. You can also mix some flower and plant forages into the hay to make it more enticing.
