My little BunBun was spayed Wednesday. Completely conked out as soon as I brought her home, she had no motivation to go to her food or water. I brought the water to her and she drank up a storm. She’ll eat her timothy hay now from time to time but she’s hardly touching her pellets (occasionally i’ll see her nibble one). I see like 2-3 droppings in her cage from 1 day period. All her litter training has definitely gone down the toilet after being spayed because she now has two corners she likes to use it seems and ignores the litter box completely. One thing that really concerns me is that when she wees…she’ll lay or flop in her own mess. Is that normal? Or does she just have no motivation to move before flopping due to soreness?

Thankfully she has not messed with her incision as far as i can see I see an occasional licking that last less than 5 seconds lol.

I have a male bunny so probably not best to advise but I thought I would say that Bramble had no motivation for food or water really for a few days either after his neutering, he started improving around day 5 if I remember right. Hopefully someone with experience of a female bun will come along soon but until then I hope this helps you worry a little less, I know I was very worried when Bramble wasn’t eating or drinking properly but it did pass and he is doing well now.

Although I have not had experience with lady bunnies after being spayed, I have seen a lady cat do this when she didn’t want to climb into the box because she was sore. The solution we had was to put a tray (think basic cafeteria tray) of litter down; that way she could still do her business but didn’t have to lift her legs too high or hop in/out of the box.

My main concern would be the lack of poops. Maybe there are some veggies or snacks she likes that you can offer her to peak her appetite?
I hope your little girl feels better soon.

Thankfully the eating and pooping have improved!

She seems to be doing a lot better.

The laying in her own pee though still kinda worries me.
