        Hello all!

Well, Theodore finally got through chewing through the floor of his cardboard house. (Lucky for me, he doesn’t ingest it… as is evident by my observations and by the mountain of shredded cardboard now scattered around the edges of the house.)

So, I’m thinking of getting something a bit more permanent, and I was wondering if anyone has any good sources for somewhere I can get a nice, possibly homemade rabbit house, preferably made of wood, for a fairly low price. I’d make one myself, but I sort of don’t really have the time or energy at the moment. But I’d love to give my money to someone who is making things independently, if at all possible. Otherwise I’m open to more corporate/mass-produced suggestions.

It’d be nice if it was something a little on the larger side, but it doesn’t have to be too big – Theodore is only 4 lbs.

Check on Etsy if you want nice but well crafted. Because of shipping charges on a heavier wooden item, you could probably have something made by a local handyman much cheaper than ordering online.

We just made Beka’s sideways E and the bunnies love it — combo hidey house, covered bun-port, and lounging deck all in one but not too tall. There’s a pic of it on the pic thead. It has two openings to the hidey part. It is pretty big, but may give you some ideas. Also, if you can find a local handyman, a wooden version of a maze haven or mini haven (BB store) would be really cool even if only one level tall.

I saw that and thought it was super cool! Hmm, I’ll have to look into this.

there is someone on Etsy that makes cool ones and they look really well done but they are all expensive like crazy….

i just use amazon boxes after i strip them of their weird packing tape that has strings in them and let her chew away. Once she is done, I swtich out to a new one

I have seen a variety of cheap, plain wood storage boxes at ikea that might work if you are looking for cheap. Otherwise, etsy is good, thought usually homemade is expensive.

LEL – I have been trying to think if there was a way for me to modify wooden furniture that would work…that would be cool! Here in NY the only Ikea is kind of inaccessible, but I bet I could find a similar solution…

Definitely! You will be surprised what you can find for your bunnies at unrelated stores. Let me know if you think of anything cool!
