I just got a new bunny a few weeks ago and the place I got her from only knew that she was a lop rabbit. Ah is about 2 months old and weighs around 2 lbs. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of lop she is so I know about how big she should be as an adult?

She could be a mix, but she probably came from a Mini lop breeder and is likely a Mini lop or Mini lop mix. She could also be a Holland lop / Holland lop mix. If she’s a mini, you can expect her to get up to about 6.5 lbs at most, and if she’s a Holland, then she’ll only get up to 4 lbs. Since she’s only 2 months old and is already 2 lbs, I’m assuming she’s a Mini, or more Mini than Holland.

With the lops, adult size is your best clue, so trying to guess which one she is to determined how big she’ll be is a sort of putting the cart before the horse.

Best gues is her ears look a bit long for a holland, so maybe mini.

Is it possible for her to be a french lop?

Yes, french lop is possible. The ear length actually seems more in line with french lop than mini lop. I just thought 2 pounds at 2 months was a bit small for a french lop, so I thought mini instead. Adult size in a few more months will give us a much clearer picture.

Well I was originally told she was a boy so “he” was named Bones. The name just stuck

Thank you all for your feedback. I will keep checking the weight as she gets older

                      So cool!
And do you know how many BBer’s have bought home a bunny and named it only to find out it was the opposite sex??? Lol! A lot are like you and stick to their original names – I would!
I personally choose a name regardless of sex – my boy dog was called Molly, and my 2 girls are called Sam and George! And the same with Henry, I had his name picked out before he was. If he had of been a girl, he would have been the prettiest Henry that I ever met! Ha ha ha!
                      Cheers!

Wow, Bones is gorgeous, such a beautiful colour! I’m going to have to echo earlier sentiments of her being the adorable kind of lop, since I’m no help as far as identifying breeds goes. But I think we can be confident that she’s a lop *nods* Hope that helped

What a sweet baby! I love gray animals!

I think she looks like a mini lop!
