A few weeks ago we realized that we had a leak under our house which was causing gnats to be in our house and they somehow got in my room. I read stuff about gnats pestering bunnies and even laying eggs inside their water or even their bum which could harm them greatly so I found this website about homemade solutions for gnats. So I placed cups of vinegar and dish soap around my room and it works although the gnats are still in my house and keep getting back into my room because my grandmother refuses to use the traps because the vinegar smells so strongly. Any other suggestions? Didn’t know where to put this..

I always thought that gnats (and flies) were attracted to vinigar. There must be a reason why they are in your house. Is there anything that smells odd/moist? I read that they are attracted to moisture.

Gnats can bite your rabbit and cause them to get sick.
Flies lay eggs directly on your rabbit’s bum causing flystrike. Flystrike can kill your rabbit within 24 hours of catching it. The flies lay the eggs on your rabbit, and when they hatch they eat your rabbit alive

I’ve only seen one fly and I killed it. The gnats were in my house because of a leak under my house and have been mostly in the kitchen and bathrooms because they come in through the sinks but my room is next to a bathroom so the gnats get in my room when I open the door. The vinegar is just to keep them from going to the rabbit. I place a cup of vinegar right next to the door and the dish soap in it makes it where when they go to drink it they sink instead of sitting on the water, so it kills them..and the gnats were first attracted to all the water under my house from the leak and now I guess they just don’t want to leave. They’re way worse in the bathrooms than in my room

We get them too.  Seasonal thing.  On sidewalks when  you walk in your eyes up your nose ugh.  They come in the house too.  Seasonal.

I do know they are attracted to fruit and food going bad as well.  We had some in here not too long ago

Then I realized I hadn’t emptied the food trash can in a bit.  I had been at the hospital quite a bit.  Overnite for a few days and come home occassionally.  Ooops. Stinky trash threw it out. OPened the door ugh.  Left the windows and door open for a bit.   Stayed home one weekend with Cotton and they went away they died off.

Still see them occassionally.   Hadn’t seen them in about a week or so. We get a few here n a few there.

Neighbors complain about them too. Didn’t know vinegar got rid of them.  I will try that around Cottons cage and in the kitchen when I see them again.  They like to bother me when I have the light on by the couch if they are in the house.

But yeah here in Florida they hang out around sidewalks and on the porches at certain times.  Hate getting them up my nose.  Ugh gross

It’s like a small bug thing sort of like a fly.

They are real small.  About the size of a piece of lead at the end of a pencil.   Also called fruit flies I believe.

Eugh, I’m not a fan (slightly scared of) any bugs, let alone tiny flying ones
