My Rex rabbit which had no health problems suddenly couldn’t walk straight without falling over. It was acting like it was very dizzy.  it seemed to be its left side which it would lean and fall to.  It was also panting even though it was a cool day.  It sat in a corner pretty much all day yesterday with this problem and without eating much.

Just 24 hours later and with no medication its almost completely better, no balance problem and huge appetite can barely tell it ever had a problem. Can someone give me some ideas on what this could be caused by?  When I looked on the internet with these symptoms all I could find was information on head tilt and inner ear infections. I’m so amazed by this recovery could it be caused by something it ingested? Thanks

Sounds like a potential ear infection or possibly even a neurological issue – I would monitor very closely. If this happens again at all, take your bun right to the vet.

funny-looking-rabbit gave you good advice. I have had 2 rabbits with ear infections. They would either list to one side or fall over. There was never any panting or loss of appetite involved, though. Do keep a close watch on your bunny. You may want to go ahead and take him or her to a vet to be checked out. If there is some infection starting or any problem starting, you want to start on treatment right away. Infections are a lot easier to treat if they are found early.
