Hi I’m so sorry to barrage you all with my posts but I am new to bunnies so need all the help I can get to look after them in the best possible way, I have an 18 week neutered male this was done Friday and he’s in a large dog crate in my front room recovering from losing his manly bits ( and feeling slightly sorry for himself) when I bring my 10 week old female in who is considerably smaller than him she heads straight to his cage to see him and sticks her nose through his bars but it looks like every time she does this he gives her nose a nip which makes her jump back, he never did this before he was neutered as his main intent was to climb on my lap to try and hump her, I eventually want to have them both having full run of the indoor hutch at night and both have full run of the front room during the day and evening instead of having them separated and doing shifts with them out, does anyone know why he is doing this? I was told by the vet after he was neutered to keep them seperate for a couple of weeks as she was still quite little to give her time to grow, I just want my bunnies to be friends, he’s quite a boisterous bunny while she is very timid and very much a cuddly lap rabbit

Well, he does that because she is invading his territory. It is best to start any kind of bonding once both rabbits have been altered and in neutral space.
