Leo is my first bun and I’ve had him since mid July 2014. I have no idea how old he is but I’m assuming under a year. The previous owner was the brother-in-law of my friend, and was an “Easter” bunny. I agreed to adopt him because they didn’t have much time for him anymore. Turns out they were feeding him dog food and when I went to go pick him up, he was in a wire cage without food, water, and no toys.  No one had even been upstairs to check on him for 2-3 days.

But he has been spoiled rotten since I’ve adopted him! He was neutered two weeks ago and is still adjusting to his new lack of hormones. If I’m in my room he is allowed full run and is litter trained. He’s still not as social as I’d like him to be and he HATES being picked up.

Does anyone know what breed he is? Or maybe just a “mutt” in the rabbit world?

Welcome! Aw that’s horrible, glad he’s living the dream now

Its completely normal that he’s not keen on being picked up, bunnies are prey animals after all

Ugh, that is AWFUL. Dog food?!

So glad he’s in a much better environment now.

TMS is right – most rabbits can’t stand being picked up, so it should be avoided mostly, unless necessary.

As for his breed, can you post more pics? It depends on his size. If he gets to a considerably large size, he may be a Flemish Giant or possibly even a Belgian Hare mix, but if he stays small then he may be a Havana.

But more than likely, he’s a mix of some sort.
