        Rabbit names: Not sure yet.
        Rabbit Age: Under a year.
How long has your bunny been with you? Three days!
Spayed/Neutered? Not yet, might be too young.
Rabbit Personality Traits: Very affectionate but doesn’t like to be pet.

Hi! I’m Lea. Shortly after my friend acquired this rabbit he had to move across the border and wasn’t able to take him with him. I am an animal lover (I have two cats and a small aquarium) so I decided to help him out by taking him. He is only allowed free range of my room because of the cats who are both outdoor cats and used to being predatory. I’ve let my more friendly cat meet him under direct supervision.

I’m not sure what type of bunny he is so if you recognize him right away, let me know! ^_^ I have done a buttload of research in the past few days so I don’t have any specific questions other than his breed, but I definitely welcome tips from long time rabbit slaves.

I can’t see the pic either, bugga! But good for you! Don’t be to disheartened that you can’t pet ‘the bunny’ – I couldn’t pet mine for a good 6 months after we got him! And even then I will ‘bend over’ to pat him and he runs off – I hate that! Ha ha ha ha! But when HE’S in the mood and lets me, I ‘love’ it! Nothing better! and I own 3 dog’s! Lol!
You said across the border? Where do you live? (not suburb) but State maybe?
And free range in your room is great, I’m sure he/she appreciates it. A very lucky bunny by the sounds of it – thank you for being so wonderful!
Let us know more Lea. Hope to talk to you again soon. Cheers.

Thanks guys! I live in Canada and he moved to Portland to be with his wife (she was not allowed into Canada for some reason).

He gives me so many bunny kisses that it totally makes up for the lack of petting lol. He lets me get one or two pets in then hops away, he’s hilarious!

Darn about the pic…I’ll try again, I assumed BBCode would work but must not! I’m on mobile so resizing to 500kb is tough.

He just sprayed all over my bed…sigh. I dunno how to keep him off it since he can get up by himself. I don’t have a litter box for him yet. Going to get him neutered asap.

Hello and welcome to the forums! Your bunny is SOOOOOOOOOOO cute. Have you decided on a name yet or still working that out? May I suggest Magnus? Maybe Ignatius? Oscar? Percy? Watson? Winston? Basil? Hahaha. He looks so dignified.

He looks to me like he could possibly be a Florida white baby… or maybe a dwarf mix of some kind? Someone here has a bunny named Berry that looks exactly like your little bun, so perhaps they know!

As for the peeing on the bed, I suggest getting a gate or an x-pen to block off his access to the bed. Getting him neutered may very well help this behavior, though. Have you found a rabbit-savvy vet yet?

                    Once again, welcome!

Thanks for all that! Haven’t figured out a name, previous owner was just calling him “Buddy”…and my mom wants his name to be “Binky Malibu” HAHA I don’t even know how she came up with that. She didn’t know about bunny binkies either, it just came to her. I kind of like Basil, that’s cute I’ve just been calling him Bunbun temporarily.

I have not looked for a vet yet, I’m thinking of calling around on Monday- lots of vets around here and one of them in town has a rabbit on their sign, so that’s hopeful! I’m pretty broke at the moment, so it might be a couple weeks until I can actually bring him in. In the meantime I have a bunny-only blankie to cover my bed with when he’s out.

My cat REALLY doesn’t know what to think of him. Bun loves him and keeps trying to groom him and Mickey (my cat) is just like “HOMG. WHAT DO I DO??” He tolerates it for about 10 seconds then runs away all offended.

With the small ears and a little extra fur around his face, I’m going to guess a dwarf/lionhead mix, without a full mane. LEL, oh lionhead queen, any thoughts?

I actually just found this on another website, it looks exactly like mine. So I’m going to assume he’s at least predominantly REW Netherland Dwarf! I looked up lionhead dwarf mixes and they’re similar but a bit too fluffy.

your cat reacts to your bunny exactly the same way my hamster reacts to my bunny. Bramble (the bunny) is really interested in Freddie (the hamster) and will always try and sniff him or play with him in some way. Freddie I think just doesn’t understand what on earth Bramble is and why he wants to play with him so he tends to run away and hide after a few seconds, or if he is in a grumpy mood (quite often) he will ram poor Bramble with his ball, at first I separated them whenever this happened but Bramble actually thinks this is fun and an invitation to play and will hop after Freddie trying to get him to play some more.

Haha cute! How long have you had them both? I’m hoping Mickey (my cat) warms up to the bun after a while. He’s a big lovebug with people and some other cats but he’s definitely not used to prey coming up to him freely I’ll be keeping a close eye on them. Maybe get a video up soon, they’re so funny together

Welcome! I would have said full netherland but his fur on his head and cheeks makes me think netherland lionhead mix as well. He is very cute!

I know you have a thread about naming him but he does look like he needs a top hat and a watch kind of like the rabbit from Alice and Wonderland and a name that starts with a Mr. and ends with bottom or pants like maybe Mr. Fluffy Pants or Mr. fluffy Bottoms.

We have had Freddie for a little over a year and Bramble has been here for just over three months. They are starting to get a bit more used to each other but you can still definitely tell that Bramble is a whole lot more interested in Freddie than Freddie is in Bramble. I think its just a bit strange for a pet when all of a sudden you bring a rabbit home, they don’t really understand what the rabbit is and why it wants to play with them. Years ago I had a rabbit and a hamster and they became best pals so I am hoping the same happens with these two. I have also seen loads of pictures of cats and rabbits getting along so hopefully Mickey will come around.
