Hi all. So let me just begin with I know this will be a long post but want to add everything in to see if I can get some input..I have only ever been a single bunny owner never a pair.. I got two female rabbits from a pet store when they were about 7 weeks old, they have been together since day one. When I first brought them home they were snuggly happy etc..they had one little “tiff” over a treat little hair pulling and circling..but as soon as I took the treat away all was good. Okay fast forward they are now just over 4 months old and have been all good until 2 nights ago..I woke up yesterday morning the cage was a mess and Bella(one of my girls) had a bit of a bloody ear.. I didnt think too much into as I took them out to give them some run time together.. after giving them run time I put them back into their cage for about 5 or 6 hours with no problems at all.. After that time I took them out for some more run time about 30 mins into run time they were playing with a box (there was multiple boxes around) and Bella took after Sable quite viciously I split it up with a towel and they went to either sides of the room but didnt attack each other after that. I put them back in there cage after half hour and they were good for about 2 hours..after two hours they got into another tiff it started with circling then hair pulling but when Sable went up to the third level Bella didnt follow.. After a bit they were both on the top level not snuggling but laying close to each other..another half hour passed and another fight happened although I stopped this one before it fully went anywhere.. I seperated them for the night(put one cage RIGHT up against the other) they didnt try to attack each other threw cages or anything.. This morning I had to take them in to get fixed and I only have one carrier so I put them in it and watched them closely they didnt even bat an eye at each other.. After they were fixed the vet said they were put in the same cage and were totally fine.. I talked to the vet explained what happened she said she wouldnt seperate them just watch them.. I put them in their big cage together they havent snuggled once but have been laying within 3-4 inches of each other, Sable cleaned Bella a bit..At the moment one is sleeping in the litter box and the other is laying about 4 inches away from her in the bottom of the cage. Can anyone weigh in on this for me? Thanks so much!!!

Thank you Sarita! Okay just a little update they have been in their cage together all night for the most part one was on the first level and the other the third level… this morning there was a bit of sitting together and Sable groomed Bellas head/face.

Sounds like they were just frustrated about their crazy hormones and took it out on each other. If they start to show aggression again, you may need to take a few steps back and work on re-bonding.

                  Friends on, friends off Danielson.

                  Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Sounds like LPT was on to something. Hopefully they will continue to calm down.
