        Hello!

My little guy was neutered six days ago, recovered fine and is right back to his normal self; however, as he was hopping around yesterday he randomly popped his butt down, lifted that tail of his, and made a quick pee. He’s usually pretty good with going in his litterbox, so I found it a little bit odd. It wasn’t a full on pee, just a quick shot of it, and while I wasn’t pleased with him, I cleaned it up and thought little of it.

On to today now! I had him hopping around my room again and after a while, whaddaya know, he skitters on over to the exact same spot and does another quick pee. Since it’s in the same spot and it’s an area he’s been very interested in exploring lately, I want to think this is him marking his territory. So that leads me to ask: is this just his last little surge of hormones kicking in that’s causing this? Or could it be something else?

the hormones still may be in the bun for the next 4 to 6 weeks so the desire to mark may not yet be gone yet.

It can take a few weeks for the hormones to settle down after they have been neutered so maybe it is a hormonal thing and like you say he is marking his territory. I am sure there are people here more informed than me but I would say give it a few weeks for the hormones to settle before worrying about it.

Additionally, even fixed bunnies will do this from time to time. Theodore had a bad habit of doing this in a particular corner of the room until we blocked it off. I think he was trying to send a message to the cat.
