        Hey guys!

So, I made some minor adjustments to Theodore’s habitat… well, actually, he made some suggestions, and I followed suit. As you can see in the photo below, he’s taken to lifting up the corner of the towel in the far right corner. I think the laminate wood planks underneath are cooler than the towels are, and since its been hot here, he likes to go there. Also, that’s where the sheet covers up above, so I think he feels cool as well as safe and secure. The funny thing is that he seemed to prefer going for this corner rather than for his frozen waterbottle! So, I thought to combine the two to create one great cooling station. If you look just to the left of the bunny, you can see that cylindrical section of towel. That’s where I’ve wrapped the frozen waterbottle in the towel that he’s moved to access the wood laminate. Now when he lies there, he can get extra cool! His cooling tiles are just in front, and he sometimes lays on those if it’s not as hot as is necessary for the cooling station. Right in front of that is his toy collection. For some reason, he loves to keep his toys in the same area of the pen. If you saw that photo in the September picture share thread, you’ll see that he even tried to put all his toys in his basket. Adorable.

He also insisted on moving the cardboard hidey-house over a little bit — he loves to be able to get 360° around everything. I’m considering altering / getting him a new hidey box, though. I don’t think he needs this huge one, and in fact might prefer a smaller one. It would also provide him with more space inside. Also, the hay now in his box and basket combo (what I like to call his “hay bar”) is about 30% Kaytee Timothy hay and 70% Oxbow Western Timothy hay. I recently made the switch to Oxbow hay, and oh boy does he love it. He enjoyed the Kaytee just fine, but he’s crazy about the Oxbow and seems to be eating even more hay than before. I still have a lot of the Kaytee, though, so I’m trying to use that a bit as well.

You’ll see here he has two water dishes. This is because he drinks like a fish and I’m not always around to replenish one bowl, so having two allows for him to always have water around even when I can’t refill one bowl. There’s usually still plenty of water by the time me or my boyfriend or roommates get home.

In this picture I just wanted to show a bit of the organization of his stuff. This is where his hay, carrier, and an x-pen that is too small for him but sometimes comes in handy to block things off all reside. (He can’t reach those bags of hay from inside the pen, by the way.)

Finally, here’s my little shelf of supplies. This is where all of the bunny-related things stay organized. I also bought that little clippable fan, as you can see, which is aimed at his pen and helps circulate the air and keep him nice and cool.

Thanks for viewing guys! I hope this gave some of you some ideas if you were looking to be inspired. I may post a few more images, because I think I’ve decided that I’m definitely going to exchange his hidey box.

You might consider getting him a gravity feed water bowl. Will take up less space and still make sure he always has water. I know there are at least a couple of BBers who use them. I’m getting ready to order one myself and give it a try.

I have seen and heard of these! At the time I originally set this up, I thought it would be cheaper just to get two $1 bowls. xP But I’ll definitely look into that.

Looks great! I have been wanting a gravity water feeder, but the thing keeping me back is the fact that my bun puts her toys in the water… Depending on the toy the water will get dyed lovely colors…………………..

I know this is a bit off topic, but if he’s drinking that much I would get his blood sugar tested.

That’s really good to know, Eepster, but it’s not as much as I make it out to be. Actually, it’s gotten to be quite a normal level in the past few weeks. But, I will keep an eye on this. Thanks for the heads-up.
