Ok so this isn’t really a concern of mine, I find it funny to be honest. But i am curious if this is common with Flemmies. My Voldemort (5 or 6mo) has never jumped over anything, he never even jumped onto our bed! (It’s on the floor) he’ll try, get all worked up, go to jump, then just stop and stare before going off on his merry way to flop over. He was in a pen only two feet tall and kept standing up, towering over it, and then going back to lay down, or bounce around and binkie. It’s very similar to my dog who seems terrified of jumps. He can jump, he’ll kick away from me with all the force of a hurricane, but jumpin over? Nope. There goes my dreams of training him to be an agility bunny! Lol

haha when my bun was growing up, she could be stopped with a low fence and when i put her on the couch she would be terrified of the edge. She kept looking over and over and over but never jumped. One day, I enticed her to jump and she did it. Now she won’t stop jumping on and off things, especially furniture shes not supposed to be on! -___-

also the gate/fence thing took about 3 months and she learned to hop over it. Oh, and I have a cage that has an opening at the top. She’s learned to use that to jump out of the cage so I can no longer have that open anymore…

Buns just have a knack of knowing what they shouldn’t do and then doing them. Of course, when you actually want them to do something, they are non compliant

My flemmie, Bonnie, is a serious jumper. She is just a little over 4 months and has jumped her 42″ xpen, and jumps on tables, boxes, chairs… and constantly looking UP to see where else she can go. Super busy body. I can’t wait til she slows down!

Theodore, my continental, jumps higher than Loony my french lop.
He climbs too, so watch out! Haha

I think it’s personality. Some bunnies are jumpers and others aren’t. Porky is a medium/small sized bunny and not a jumper.

Harvey (Flem) didn’t start jumping until he was about 5-6 months old. The first time he tried he was trying to get up on the couch – he stood there looking at it for ages then eventually did the most pathetic jump ever, barely leaving the ground, and flomped back down onto the floor. Eventually he got it though and started jumping on EVERYTHING, and subsequently started learning about gravity and the importance of correct foot placement…..

Just last week he fell off the windowsill above our bed. That was a nice way to wake up – giant bunny scrambling to get himself together ON YOUR FACE.

Hugh and Jess are both Flemmies, and Hugh loves jumping on top of everything he can find, boxes and his hutch are his favourite. But Jess can’t be tempted up onto the couch using her fave treat (grapes) and even after I made her a ramp. At one stage I got her hind legs up the ramp a little and her front paws on the couch, but then she turned tail and ran away. Which is silly, when she binkies she leaps about 1m in the air!

Oh jeez, well then I hope he never realizes how high he should be able to jump! His new cage is gonna be a fence blocking off an alcove in our room and the fence is only 3 or 4 ft high. XD those are some really funny stories!

My bun doesn’t really mind jumping. The highest she’s really jumped is onto my bed, which is probably 2 to 2 1/2 feet off the ground?
