Is it ok for my bunny to eat pepper plant leaves and stalks… I have one growing that she seems to have taken a liking to and takes every opportunity to try and get to it to sneak a nibble! should I move it or is it ok for her to occasionally have a nbble of it? Thanks

Bell peppers are listed as safe, but no one ever mentions the plant itself (leaves, stems, etc). They always refer to the pepper.

Just to be safe I would remove the plant until now. I think calling your vet would also be a safe thing to do…. you can never be too sure because even if the fruitor veggie is safe tje plant and leaves may not be or may contain certain poisons.

I found several mentions about bell pepper/chili leaves being potentially poisonous. This concludes most of what I found: http://www.foodreference.com/html/tpepperssweet.html

So you shouldn’t let your bunny eat the plant itself. Many bunnies have an instinct for what they can or can’t eat, but some bunnies may have lost this instict through breeding in captivity for many generations. So you can’t really trust a bunny to make the proper food-choices.
