        Hello BB’s!

I’ve been MIA lately. Lots going on with uni and doctors appointments. Anyway… As you know I have my gorgeous bun sun, Chester. Whom I adore more than anything. Well, now he has a bun brother

On June 27, I walked out my yard as the sun was going dow to check sonething. Then I saw something bolt through the yard, with one of the stray kittens (stray mum cat with 2 kitties kind of adopted us as as their owners late last year) chasing after it. In shock, I said “OH MY GOD!” and Dad came running to see what went wrong. There was a bunny in our yard. Long story short, I followed the bun and gave him food. He ate, then hopped under the fence as I tried to catch him.

June 28, I left pellets outside (and some tasty banana &nbsp to lure the bun back into my yard. I waited until sunset again in hope to see the bun. He returned (only this time I set up a caged area to catch him). As he was busy munching on banana, I went into the caged area and shut the gate behind me. He was corned now. I sat with him, talking to him before picking him up and brining him inside the house to put in a large dog crate

His name is Billy aka Billy Bun (Dad named him lol)  Billy is a total sweetheart, but the night he came to us he broke my heart. I do not know if he escaped or if his owner “freed” him. But I can tell you this, he had been abused. I have never seen a bunny move their head the way Billy did when I went to pet him. He did not want anyone touching near his ears, like he was expecting pain. I think he may have been an easter bunny as he seems quite young and the children of the family didn’t treat him right

Nonetheless, It is safe to say that he loves it here. He binkies and flops, throws his toys, and loves to run around the house. He is yet to be introduced to Chester as Billy needs desexing, plus I wanted him to put on weight first (He felt very thin when he came to me)

Here he is! This was the night we got him

Also the night we got him

I will add some new photos of Billy and Chester later

          Aw
Thanks for taking him in. Hopefully he learns to trust you in time.

Good idea. Meeting another bun can be stressful to some and stress wouldn’t aid his weight gain. Besides, it’s wise to quarantine a new bun (especially a stray).

            Congrats!
It is so sad that he had been previously abandoned/abused, but it warms my heart to know now he has a happy forever home with you.
            He is too cute!

Oh wow!!! How awesome are you!!!
And you can tell that Billy is content (relieved!), look at him flopped out – I LOVE IT!
Thank you for being so wonderful – hug’s to you AND your dad! So cool.

I’m sure Chester (gosh, he’s still such a cutie – I melt every time I see his little siggy pic!) will adore him too after he has been de-sexed.
Wishing you all the very best. (and yes, I’m still gushing over them both!) he he he he he…..

Billy is so handsome! I’m SO glad you were able to catch him and I’m even happier that you’ve decided to give him a forever home!! He looks so relaxed all flopped out like that. Probably the first time he’s felt safe for a while.

                    Thank you everyone

Billy is settling in nicely. He really has blossomed over these last 2 months. I can honestly say, he truly is a happy bun. I sit down with him and he climbs on my lap which just melts me

I will be getting him desexed either September or October, that way he has a month or 2 to settle down before the end of the year (I plan to start bonding him and Chester in December/January).

Does anyone know what breed Billy may be? I was thinking an American Sable but I’m not great with rabbit breeds. Also, can anyone guess his age? I think he was an Easter bunny as he does look young (I’m thinking maybe under a year).

He is a gorgeous rabbit. I love his coloring. I am so glad he has found a home with you.
I am not sure what breed or age he is. I wish I knew. Whatever he is he is a handsome little guy.

He is adorable! He probably is under a year, but its hard to tell. we probably wont know unless he grows even larger

I would say there is a good chance he is mixed. His ears might be a bit too short for a pure sable…. And he could have both sides mixed!
I’m thinking American Sable/ American and a dwarf or mini rabbit mixed with a larger rabbit…. His fur looks to be a bit on the brown/ tan side :p
