This may be an overused topic, but I would like to know what type of hay tastes the best. By type of hay I mean timothy hay, oat hay, orchard grass hay, etc.

I don’t know, I haven’t personally tasted many types of hay.
It really does depend on your bunny, although oat hay seems to be a favorite amoung adult buns. Mine love orchard hay.

Thanks, I gave him a variety of oat, orchard, timothy, and alfalfa and he seems to like timothy.

My buns like Timothy the best. I feed Oxbow brand. I like to mix in some Oat Hay once in a while as a treat.

I have a very picky bun – who didn’t like to eat much hay. I tried Orchard, Timothy and Meadow…but nothing really appealed to him. Then I read a post by one of the other members here, that her picky bun went crazy for American Pet Diner Timothy Gold. I ordered this – and he LOVES it – so this is now the only hay I buy.

My buns are not too picky. They love all kinds of hay in general. But their favorite is definitely oat hay. They really like seed pods.

My bunnies absolutely love oat hay. Only problem is that the seed heads (I call them oat hay tops!) are nutritious but higher calorie. I was giving my bunnies some oat hay tops every night and noticed the buns getting a little rounder (they’re small bunnies — range from 3 to 4 lbs so it doesn’t take a whole lot for them to gain weight!). Now they get the tops as treats . . .

Mine gets timothy hay without limits. I’m not sure if she loves them but she’ll eat them when nothing better is around.

She also likes the crunchiness of oat hay. I have a much smaller bag of that so she gets some daily but not a lot

I’ve tried orchard grass but she didn’t care for it and now it sits in the corner…probably needs to be tossed now

You would think she would like alfalfa too, but she doesn’t care too much, sometimes she’ll eat it, sometimes she’ll stick her nose up at it lol
