Tonight I was in the bunny room with Kilala and Usagi. Kilala did this strange quick side to side waging moving with her tail. It was weird and I never seen a rabbit do this before. Has anyone else seen their rabbit wag their tail  side to side?

Usagi was being a bit of a bother to her at the time. I wonder if her behavior had something to do with him? He was trying to mount her which is something he has never done before until today.

I’ve heard some of the flemmie (?) parents talk about this I think. I’ve seen Kieko bob her tail up and down when she gets excited but never back and forth. Would be really cute!

Harvey wags his when he is out exploring or just running around. I have heard it can be defiant but I haven’t noticed that.

Not wag, but pull it side ways when I try to comb it.

Olivia wiggles her tail when she’s running around and she doesn’t want me to pick her up for bedtime. It’s definitely defiance with her! I just picture her saying “You can’t catch me!!!!” Wiggle Wiggle

My big boy wags his tail up and down when I have a treat and he’s stretching his body leaning forward. I think its a balancing act.

Meki does the same thing! When it’s time to put her back in her cage, she wiggles her tail quickly from side to side and ZOOMS in the opposite direction. Sometimes she’ll hop right to the front of her cage….then tail wag and run away. She also does it when I’m playing “catch” with her. I wiggle my fingers in a fast pace towards her and she wiggles her tail before binkying away.

I think she was annoyed. I did see some videos of rabbits doing that but they seemed happy. I noticed that after she wagged her tail Usagi layed down and left her alone for a little bit. I haven’t seen her do it again. It was cute but definitely something I had never seen before or knew they could do. I have seen up and down tail movement before.

Merida does this all the time when she’s annoyed with me or Liam, or just being cheeky
“Tail: when erect, a sign of interest or aggression. When wagging, it’s a form of defiance or back-talk. Translation: “Wow, that’s interesting. You have just plucked my last nerve and I’m going to do something about it. I don’t want to; you can’t make me.” “
