Cinnabun is back on antibiotics for his chest infection. It has only been about 24 hours since the vet put him back on due to his stasis so they aren’t working yet. His sneezing and couching are scaring the crap out of me, even though he seems totally chill with it. He is also making a rasping noise when he breaths.

I know that the antibiotics are going to help him and everything but I am terrified whenever I hear these noises, so to be on the safe side, does anyone have any ideas on bunny CPR?

I know about the bunny heimlich (it terrifies me, but I will practice on a stuffed rabbit until I feel confident enough to do it if I had to to save one of my boys), and I know it is very unlikely that something were to happen, but it got me thinking that I should learn this BEFORE something happens so I am not googling/youtubing this while trying to save a dying rabbit some day.

I took a pet first aid course, that was for dogs and cats, and the instructor said that you would do it just like with a cat. So you could look at cat CPR videos on youtube maybe?

But I’m sure you won’t need it-the antibiotics should get to work right away How is Cinnabun doing now?

Kokanee- Thanks so much! The antibiotics didn’t work and he is getting worse. He is eating and stuff now, so I think his stasis is mainly gone but his breathing and and sneezing and such and worse. I am going to try to find a different rabbit vet that knows more as my vet seemed pretty stumped as to what could be the issue with him.

Also, where did you take a pet first aid course? I have dogs and cats as well and I think that is something I should do just in case something were to ever happen.
