My rabbit Cinnabun came home from the vet today (YAY!). The bad news is that the vet had several medications for him as well as benebac and critical care. So all in all I have about five things I am syringe feeding him multiple times a day. Or attempting to.

Cinnabun is a very smart rabbit. He allows the syringe feeding to happen, but the moment I pause to let him swallow, he spits it back out. And I mean all of it, not just a little bit, he totally spits every bite out.

All the youtube videos I have watched have mentioned this possibility but they never say how to fix it. Does anyone have any good ideas?

For the critical care, have you tried just presenting it to him on a plate? Some bunnies will willingly eat it.

Sometimes my bunny isn’t so accepting of his medicine so I’ll pour it on a treat and he eats it right up. Be careful so it doesn’t get all messy.

              Thanks for the advice!

LBJ- I tried that earlier. He ate a bite, then sat in it. I am not sure why, but he was much more interested in sleeping in it than eating it.

Samicles- Thanks for the idea, but I think he can taste it or something because he won’t even eat it when it is mixed in something.
