Ok, so I have read that bunnies pee on people when they want to mark their territory, so it is a compliment.  And I’m sure sometimes my bunny pees on me for that reason, but sometimes it really seems he pees on us when he’s annoyed with us.  He is 6 months old and not neutered – prime hormone time.  But it seems like the times he is most loving towards us he doesn’t pee and the times we do something that may annoy him he does.  He also never spray pees anything else – he does pee and poo everywhere, but on the floor not spraying on furniture, etc.  But he certainly spray pees us.  Is this really just him marking us as his territory, over and over?

I would HIGHLY reccomend getting him neutered. My neuterd male bunny was neutered when I got him, and he only ever pees in his litterbox, NEVER on me.

Yes, he is marking you. Never yell, hit or scream at a bunny, they will just learn to fear you (you’re probably not doing this though). Unless your doing these things, how do you think he can tell you’re annoyed? Just don’t do things that annoy him lol.

Buns will mark for various reasons. When my two buns have an “argument” they start marking against each other. So, it’s possible annoying him could cause him to mark. And my Powder used to pee on me if my feet were in his way of him getting off the bed (he wouldn’t step on me, but he’d pee on me, go figure). But, yeah.. getting him neutered should help that a lot. lol

Thanks! Hmmm – well, yes, I don’t know if he is annoyed at me, but I noticed he seems to pee on my more when I’m fixing his blankets – he tends to get annoyed when I mess with his stuff. Though not often at the times when we’re bonding and I’m giving him treats or petting him. Maybe it’s totally random, I just can’t seem to figure out the pattern with when he pees on me or see it coming at all. I know he is marking us, but it that really a compliment or is it a dominance thing or does he just randomly pee everywhere without thinking about it? Also strange that he doesn’t spray pee furniture or walls or anything else?

Yeah, my bunnies also HATE when I clean their cage or fix up their blankets. They give me the evil eye if their pen is dirty, and they “attack” me if I try to clean it. As I said before, neutering will help with “anger” and hormonal issues, and he will defiantly pee less on you.
It can either be dominance or a compliment. If he seems annoyed with you when he does it, I would think it’s dominant though.
