        Hi!

My female doe is getting spayed tomorrow as well as my new buck (neutered) which I rescued about a week and a half ago. I decided to trim her nails and while I was doing this I noticed her vulva looks swollen and red. Would this be because of my buck and her being all YAY A MALE! Or should I be more worried? Will  they still go on with the spay?D:

        Thank you

Have they been together this whole time? How old are they? The vet will still do the spay, unless they find she is pregnant and about to pop.

They have been in separate cages but they could sniff each other through the bars. Delilah my doe is a few days over two and Mr.Simba is just 7 months. I know for sure she’s not in pain as she is flopped right now and eating hay at the same time.. She’s very happy and not in pain.

Hmm-I honestly don’t have a clue! I’m not entirely sure what a swollen would look like to be able to tell you if it’s normal or why it would be swollen. Since spay day is tomorrow, I wouldn’t worry at all. Your vet will do an exam pre-surgery, so as long as she’s eating and pooping, and seeing a vet tomorrow-well I wouldn’t worry at all-have a good rest and good luck at the vet tomorrow! Oh and if you find out why it’s swollen -let us know!! ANd please let us know how they recuperate

I’d definitely make a point of mentioning it to the vet….. Possibley even phone today to let them know and see if there is anything else you should check for.
