I am wondering if the Hairbuster brush sold here works well for minirex rabbit fur? I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. I want to know if people have used it for minirex rabbits before I buy it. Thank you so much for you input. If this brush isn’t the best option for minirex rabbits, what else has worked for minirex rabbit owners?

I am not sure about that brush. I just use a wet hand for my rex. Her fur is so short and dense the brush I use for my other bunny doesn’t do anything on hers.

The hairbuster as it comes out of the package doesn’t work at all on my short-haired bunny. However, I’m going to adjust the band downward and see if that helps — will post results! We’ve been using a furminator on her with good results. The hairbuster is amazing on my lops though!

I don’t think it works as well for short hair. But maybe JR’s suggestion will work?

Ok, tried it. Hubby had to get the “ribbon” to slide down on the comb. Kieko isn’t really shedding right now but I did get a little loose fur off. It looks like it *might* be ok. So, with short fur, you have to slide the ribbon down. Jury’s still out ’til Kieko starts shedding though. Her fur is so short and so soft and smooth, almost silky. We’ve tried everything else on her so it’s definitely down to the furminator and the hairbuster with adjusted ribbon.

Like JR said, I think you can slide the rubber part down for shorter-haired bunnies. I use mine on the (short-haired) bodies of my lionheads and it works just fine.

I’ve heard pumice stones can work well for Rex fur.
