        HI!

I got my male rabbit 2 weeks ago, he’s not neutered, but i would like him to be, its better for his health and better if we

get another bunny in the future. I live in Australia and getting him neutered is quite pricey If anyone knows any

good vets that neuter rabbits cheap in Australia, that would be a big help,

im not sure what the avarage price is but the lowest i found was $100 and thats 2 hours away ;/

        thanks x

Moving to Q&A. Where in Australia too – we have many Australian members.

Remember not to just look at the price that the vet gives out-make sure they are rabbit savvy and have experience in neutering bunnies.
$100 is not too bad for a neuter, although I have seen cheaper. One way to look for good vets is to contact local rabbit rescues/house rabbit societies and ask who they recommend.

I’m not sure I could walk in my vet’s office for $100!

                True, true.
Does the $100 include pain-meds and a pre-op check up, or is that just the neuter itself?

Ha yes Jackrabbit-100$ would be wonderful! But I think with conversion maybe it’s somewhere around 200$ for us here in the US or Canada-still not too bad but 2 hours away is really hard.

Thebunnyguide-can you post what city or area you are in? Like Sarita said there are lots of Australian’s here so some may be able to give you some vet tips.

It might be worth saving up for the surgery, to have it closer to home?

Also the quality of the vet is very important; you’ll want to ask the vet how many spay/neuters on rabbits they do a year, if they are comfortable doing them, what other types of issues have they treated in rabbits, etc.
