Hi everyone! I was wondering, how often do you take your bunnies to the vet?

The only time I  take my buns to the vet is once a year for vaccinations, etc., and emergencys (never had one!), except for when I was very new to bunnies and thought sore hocks was fatal, lol silly me

My boyfriend is a vet student, so he also checks up on the bunnies once a month

I take mine once a year for their well-bunny checkups, and then obviously for any other vet care that is needed.
That is so cool that your BF can give your bunnies check up.

Bindi has a lot of problems. He goes every few months at least. We deal with a lot of ear infections, sinusitis and chronic runny eyes. He is well known at the vet. I just call and say “Hi, it’s Bindi’s Mom”. He’s actually the reason my vet included a bunny when she made her new outdoor sign. Too bad he doesn’t get any royalties…..

Olivia goes as needed. We’ve dealt with a few stasis issues in the past.

Way too often! I’m still in new mom panic mode (when will it end?! its been a year!!) so most of our visits have been peace of mind visits and “while we’re there” nail trims.

I live in the US and we don’t do vaccines. But normally with a young rabbit I have just done the annual or as needed. When I had senior rabbits (over 7 or 8) I would usually do once a year unless they were having issues then I would do twice a year.

My current rabbit is younger – maybe 5 years old, not certain of exact age but he has no lower left molars so he requires dental checkups approximately ever 8 weeks or so for molar spurs. If he didn’t have that we would just be going annually.

Every 6 months or so usually.
I love going to the vet so I’m a bit keen I think

Stickers has been to the vet 3ish times in the last year, she’s got respiratory problems though. Powder is so stressed out by the vet I try to not take him more than I need to, he’s never been sick so not an issue so far.

Sawyer just had his first vet appointment a few weeks ago and then I took him back last week to be neutered. The vet recommends that I take him twice a year. I’m going to bring him back for a checkup in January.

At this stage, every few weeks because that’s how often the little horror eats things he’s not supposed to….

Twice a year! Spring time with their vaccinations with a vet and around autumn by a nurse they do free check ups with te vet nurses and encourage regular check ups!

To only go to the vet twice a year……that would be such a treat!!!!!!

Once a year now when the double-vaccine (Myxi+calici) that only needs to be taken once a year is available. The vet listens to the heart, checks the visible teeth and palpate the little body some. I suppose they do a rough assessment of the general demeanour of the bunny that way. Once yhe vet told me Bam was fat, that gave me a scare, so I put him on a diet. I swear to God I didn’t realize how fat he was (400 grams!!! That’s almost an Lb!!!). Now I weigh him regularly so he won’t be putting on weight on the sly, since my eyes alone clearly can’t be trusted =)

My buns are fairly young so they don’t have a whole lot of health-issues.
