Forum BEHAVIOR Unneutered male + spayed female?

        This may be a silly question, but if you were to put an unneutered male and a spayed female together on a playdate, would he still try to mate with her?

          Very likely he would. It’s never a good idea to put unaltered rabbits together. Even if one is altered :~)

              Good question! It’s not an uncommon problem. Since the male will keep trying to mate with the neutered female, she will most likely become aggressive towards him. There won’t be babies of course but the likelihood of bad fighting is high. I just watched a video dealing with this and other rabbit-issues in a MOOC on Animal Welfare (Uni of Edinburgh) that I’ve been taking.
