We have room on the side of our soon to be house – that I think would be ideal for a bunny run, and garden for the boys to eat.   To avoid fly strike, I’m planning to line the entire run with a fly screen.

Ideally I wanted a bunny run area where I could sit inside with them….but that may not be simple to build.  We have hawks here – so have to have some covering for the top.  Ideally it should be tall enough for me to enter to get them out when it’s time – or at least have a lid that can lift.

Any cool suggestions/pics of your runs?

This is where I want my husband to build it.

Would the noise from the heat pump bother them?

I don’t think so – my husband usually has 2 fans running in their room, plus our intake fan is very loud – and they don’t seem to be frightened by the noise.

I guess an aviary type thing would be best, so it would be large, full-height, etc.

I think your best bet would be some kind of aviary, like Tessie said.
Are they going to be supervised when they are in the run?

I’ll have to research aviary type runs….But they will be mostly supervised – maybe not the entire time outside. The entire backyard is fenced – so I don’t think we’ll have issues with dogs/cats/coyotes. I’ve asked my husband to consider using plexiglas along the bottom, on the outside of the frame – so that critters can’t climb the walls, but the buns can look out – and chicken wire above, covered in fly screen to be extra careful. I’m looking forward to starting the construction.
