Just wondering if banana leaves are ok for buns? I tried a Google search and couldn’t find anything negative, but I’d like to hear from actual rabbit owners.

HI rayray! How’s that beautiful Ziggy??? Still keeping you on your toes? Ha ha ha ha…..
Oh, something I’m desperate to know??? Is Ziggy sleeping wee ‘free’ with you yet? We moved a dog bed into the bedroom for Sam cause she can’t jump up onto the bed anymore – Henry has taken it upon himself to sleep with her – good grief! An old dog and a bunny sleeping on a dog bed – yes, it’s that funny!

And yes! Banana leaves are great for bunnies! There isn’t much nutrition but definitely NOT bad for bunny’s, so don’t over indulge Ziggy – Henry loves it and we offer it as a treat food.
Banana leaves are used (by naughty people) as a cheap ‘filler’ food in some places/countries. We planted a banana tree for him, and it didn’t survive – we realized we took all the leaves off to feed/treat him, ha ha ha! Silly us!
We plan to plant another one next month (Spring) – this time we’ll take more care not to strip it bare – lol!

Cuddles to Ziggy from me and Henry…..

Oh boy is he ever! Lol! He’s free range in my bedroom at night. When I get out of bed he nose butts my feet for me to give him nose rubs. He hasn’t peed on the bed since I got a new mattress.
But he has been pretty funny lately. He keeps dragging around his tent to different spots in my room. I guess he can’t decide where he likes it best. Lol
Henry’s a softy. He can’t leave his buddy to sleep by herself. What a sweetie.

So glad to hear Ziggy is doing well.
I can’t wait to see photos, maybe some of him enjoying his banana leaves?
