Okay so this past weekend I built my bunny a new cage. He’s all moved in and I dismantled the old one. I cleaned all the bedding out but there’s still stains on the bottom of the cage. My boyfriend used a bleach mix spray to try and get rid of the stains. He didn’t know that you’re supposed to use vinegar! Will the bleach spray be harmful to the future bunnies that want to live in it? I want to donate it to the shelter but I’ll just throw it out if it’s going to end up making a bunny sick.

I tried to get rid of the scent of it by rinsing it off then I left it outside. It’s been out on my balcony since Sunday. It’s rained a little bit, but not a whole lot. Do you think it’ll be safe for future residents or no?

As long as you clean it out, you will be ok. Just make sure you rinse it down real good. I had a sick bunny last year, and the vet told me to bleach the cage before putting a new bunny in it. I have had my new bun since Oct and he is fine.
