so normally, my rabbit is jumping, playing and snatching his favorite treats out of my hand. but this morning he just wants to lay around and be lazy, and he isn’t too interested in treats… I don’t think he is sick because he ate lots of fresh veggies and pellets last night. no tooth grinding, nothing. I was wondering if bunnies can have bad or lazy days or what?

            Hi there,
My rabbit Neji has lazy days sometimes. When he is in this mood he doesn’t even come out of his cage even if I leave the cage door open for him. I just leave him be when he is like this. Neji gets a lot of comfort from his cage.
I think that as long as you see your rabbit eating lots of hay and pooping normal he should be fine, it is when this stops that you need to get himt to the vet.

my bunny will have days when he doesn’t eat his dinner as fast as he normally does and I get super paranoid too…I know the feeling…if he is still pooping and eats his regular diet I wouldn’t worry too much. My bunny definitely has lazy days.

Could he be warm? If mine are warm, they tend to lounge around in front of the air vent.

How is your bunny now? Bunnies can actually become ill very quickly. I’ve had a bunny eat breakfast and seem fine and then an hour later become very lethargic and ill with tummy issues. Any change in behaviour can be cause for concern.

If it’s warm where you are, that could be the issue. Bunnies will be lazier if they are warm. Check out the BB “Bunny Info” section on how to keep bunnies cool.
