We have two dog crates that used to house two of our bunnies but are now sit in our bunny area with the doors latched open. They are midwest dog crates. The crates are now used as a “kitchen/bathroom” crate (hay & litterboxes) and a “bedroom” crate. The doors just get in the way now and I’d like yo remove them. I would just take them completely out but the kitchen/bathroom crate is perfect for hanging hay feeders, containing tracked and kicked out litter and hay, and cleans up easily. I could take out the crate and just use the crate pan, but Moshi would drag it all over the room.

So, anyone ever removed a crate door? If so, was it damaged so it could never be reattached?

        Thanks!

Depending on the dog crate, I would think you could bend the parts used as “hinges” so that you could remove the door. I did this once with a guinea pig cage and was able to reattach them just fine. What brand of dog crate do you have?

Midwest with the original double latch doors. I just wondered if anyone had removed and then successfully reattached.
