        Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone on here is either a member of an official Dutch rabbit club or association either in the US or UK (or anywhere else!), and/or could take a look at comparing some photos of Dutch colorations and some photos I’ve included below, and help me determine or decide what “official” color Theodore would be considered.

He’s not a show bunny, but I’m still curious!

According to the UK Dutch Rabbit Club, these are the standard color variations for Dutch rabbits. Of these, I’m leaning towards calling him a “Blue Dutch”.

Here are some pics I snapped earlier today of the bunny:

        Picture #1 | Picture #2 | Picture #3

His coat, as you may or may not be able to tell by these pictures (the second one isn’t good for his fur color as it’s too dark, but I thought it was cute anyway), is not quite brown and not quite grey. It’s a little bit of a mixture of both, and both my roommate and I agree that there is a weirdly “blue” color to his darker fur. His eyes, however, are dark brown, which apparently would rule him out of being a perfect Blue Dutch at a show… not that that matters to me!

Let me know what you think!

He sure is a cutie – to be honest he looks black and white to me. But he could certainly be blue :~)

He looks dark gray (blue) and white to me in the pictures. I’m sure he looks different under different lighting.

Yes, he does look different in different lights… Though, he’s not quite the deep, ink black that you see in the black and whites, but he’s not really brown or a true grey, either. “Dark grey (blue)” sounds more accurate.

He’s a lovely colour! But it might well be that he’s not a recognised colour.

Good point, Tessie! It’s very likely that he’s some in-between color that isn’t officially recognized. I guess I’m just approximating and trying to decide what he’s closest to. C:
The UK standards include more of those in-between colors I noticed. They have things like “pale grey”.

So I joined this Dutch rabbit group on Facebook (hahah) and asked them, and they all seemed to wholly agree that he’s a Blue! So that’s what I’m stickin’ with!
