        Hey everyone!

I was just wondering what you all think of these “floss” chew toys (they look kind of like the rough stringy sponges you use to wash dishes and/or steel wool). I keep seeing them around and have been wondering if they’re more or less a money-making gimmick, like salt licks for rabbits, or if they actually do some good for the teeth.

        Thanks!

hmmmm…I’m not sure what you are referring to. Can you post a pic?

Sure! I actually ended up buying some today, here are the exact ones I bought. They are called SuperPet Crispy Chews and are made from the fibrous interior of gourd vegetables, so I figure they can’t be bad even if they don’t do what they claim to for teeth.

They do look like they’d be interesting to the mouth. I’m interested in what your bun thinks of them!

If I am looking at the right thing, those are made of loofah, which is perfectly safe for bunnies. Some bunnies like it, some don’t.

Yeah, exactly! Good to hear someone say they’re fine for bunnies — I was also wondering if they actually are beneficial for the teeth.

So far, Theodore seems to enjoy picking them up and giving them a lift or a small chew. We’ll see if he continues liking them.
