After reading the threads and various articles on the use of Myristol supplement for bunnies, I found a very similar supplement through one of the websites I order horse supplies from:

        https://www.smartpakequine.com/smar…lets-8293p

This supplement, Smartflex IV Ultimate, has almost all the same active ingredients at similar levels.  It comes pelleted and is even flavored.  I thought I’d make a post about it in case others were interested.

Zeus has been on it for only a few days, so I really can’t say if it makes any difference so far.  I can say he eats it well, which is a definitely good thing!  The nice thing about this stuff is that if you get it in “Smartpaks”, little individual daily disposable containers, you can order just a month’s supply at 1/4 scoop daily.  That amount I think will last Zeus quite a long time, at least a few months.  This makes it pretty budget-friendly.  I just give Zeus one pellet in the morning, and one pellet in the evening.  After a few weeks I may up it to two pellets twice daily.  They are larger pellets than the standard bunny food pellet.

I will keep this thread updated as he’s been on it for a few weeks and see if I’ve noticed a difference.  He doesn’t act arthritic, but due to his size and being an adult rabbit, I thought it would be a good thing to try.

Sounds great – I’d be interested to hear if you feel it’s working.

Just thought I’d post a quick update – he’s been in it about a month now. I have noticed a slight difference in his behavior since adding the joint supplement. Most interestingly, much less instances of cecals left in his litterbox or a messy butt. Sarita, I think you were the one to mention this can sometimes be caused by arthritis and the bunny not able to reach to clean themselves. It looks like you hit the nail on the head.

He’s also been a little more rambunctious and active, which is great. He’s never been a high-speed kinda guy, but he’s definitely mozying around more now than a month ago. Very interesting, and encouraging. He only gets 1 or 2 pellets AM and 1 or 2 pellets PM. I feel if the effects begin to wear off I could easily up his dosage to a small pinch as needed.

              That’s great!
Thanks for the update. It’s good to hear when these supplements have a positive effect.

Definitely!  I really wasn’t too overly optimistic, but I’m pleasantly surprised that there’s a noticable difference.

Thought I would just update this thread one more time for reference. He’s been on the joint supplement for about two months now and there has been a noticeable difference in his activity level. Also, no more poopy butt, at all. Zero. Wahoo.

I highly suggest this supplement – he eats it like it’s a treat, it’s very cost effective, and it works well. He even did a “big bunny binky” the other day – just the back end left the ground, LOL. It’s a lot of work getting that much rabbit airborne!

That’s fabulous! I had Mimzy on Myristol for some time but never really noticed much difference. I guess it varies from rabbit to rabbit.
Congratulations on this working so well for Zeus!
