I noticed 2 days ago that my bunny has red bold spots that look sore on the front of his/ hers  (still unsure)  booth little feet. I’m so worried and I’m not sure what can be causing this, he doesn’t seem like he’s in pain and he hops around normally but it looks so painful to me! . I am looking for a vet also to take him asap, but would like to know if this is anything I have to worry about, or how I could treat it in the mean time? he is an indoor bunny and does not have a wire cage. Please help! I have attached a photo also

        Thank you!

I’m not seeing the photo attachment, but it sounds like sore hocks to me. Even without wire floors a bunny can get that. (Mine does.) Did you mean red bald spots?
The vet can give you a cream that you apply on the sores to heal them. I was given Avi-X Soother Plus cream, a prescription. Meanwhile, you can get something called Bag Balm, which is this funny square green can that can be found in CVS and other drug stores. It’s said it’s for soothing cows udders (!), but it’s good for everything from dry skin in bunnies, to dry heels in humans. It’s not a substitute for a vet visit, but it’s good to keep in the house for mild issues.

In the meantime, keep his nails trimmed and try to provide different surfaces so he’s not always on plastic or hard floors.

This is very common with rabbits since they don’t have pads on their feet like dogs do. Calluses are ok, but if it’s “angry red”, a vet visit is a good idea.

Is this on the top or underside of front feet?

If I remember your rabbits is very young – I cannot imagine he should have any sore hock problems.

What kind of flooring do you keep him on?

Best get him checked out. Possibility of mange mite, bacterial or fungal infection.
