  We got our 4th (and final for now) rabbit yesterday! I need to figure out how to post a picture because I’d love for you to tell me what breed he is! I have a feeling he’s a mix of some sort…..and I can’t tell if it’s the breed or if he is just SUPER overweight. He is black and white with blue eyes. He’s probably at least 8lbs but has super tiny ears and I tiny head lol I don’t know if this is just in comparison to the rest of his chubby body? He also has a dewlap….again, I don’t know if it’s an actual dewlap or a large double chin. His name is B.E. Bunny (for Blue Eyed Bunny) but we may change his name to Chubz! He’s still settling into our crazy household but I’m happy to see him nibbling some hay right now….Looks like he needs some good outdoor exercise

  Can’t wait to see pictures! Sounds like he’s a vienna marked variety (when trying to breed for blue eyed whites you can accidentally end up with some interestingly marked blue eyed bunnies).

  Yes, they said he’s a VM. Does that mean he’s a specific breed or could he be any breed? I’m thinking he’s a rex but I’m not sure if they’re known for short ears….Can you point me in the direction of how to post pics?

  It could be any breed. It is just what happens when they only have one BEW gene. My Wooly is Vienna marked and he’s a Jersey Wooly.

  Gorgeously chubby! lol I can tell when we get a rabbit who has been feed mostly pellets and treats…..he won’t even touch most of his greens! They told me he loves apples and fruit….maybe they gave him too many! I’m only giving him 1/8 c of pellets (he seems grumpy about this lol) and lots of greens. He prefers eating his paper bag…

  Small ears tend to suggest smaller breeds, so I’m guessing 8 lbs is over weight. Has he been to a vet yet?
