I’m not sure how to add pics to my signature but we currently have a black English lop, fawn Flemish Giant, and a Champagne d’Argent. I would like to add one more so they can become two bonded pairs (or maybe a group of 4 if I count my lucky stars!). I am thinking either a Californian/Rex or a Blue Eyes Holland Lop. Does anyone have experience with these breeds? Is either one more friendly than the other (I have two little kids)? TIA!

Of course it depends on the bunny, but lops tens to be more docile and child-friendly. Are you going to get one from a shelter? If you ask LEL on her Signatures by LEL thread, she can make you a siggy with pics

            I’ve never heard of a Californian/Rex – is that a mix?

I can tell you that Californian’s are very sweet and very nice rabbits. I would suggest however that you do try to rescue one from a rescue or shelter and keep an open mind about what is available :~)

Yes, it’s a mix…and that’s a good idea Sarita. I was trying to rescue from the Craigslist pet section but I guess maybe those aren’t all true “rescues.”

              Thanks MK!

Every bun is different, and bunny dating and checking out personalities at a rescue is the way to go if you have any near you. My lops are definitely more laid back than my other bun but they aren’t cuddly lap bunnies. They like pets and will head butt to ask for them.

I laugh whenever I hear people talk about how docile, laid back, and friendly holland lops are. Pond never got that memo! He’s super high strung, friendly in his own way, but definitely not docile or easy to handle!

I have 2 male holland lops Gizmo and Thumper, Gizmo will come up to you for affection and will let you pet him and hold him. (most of the time) And Thumper not so much, but they arent neutered yet soo itt could change a little. But it depends on the bun itself!! Before I went to go pick up my buns, I did alot of research on rabbits, breeds and everything else and I finally decided on the Holland lop, there adorable floppy ears, and there wonderful personalities is what got me!
                    Good Luck

I rescued one of my bunnies from craigslist, he was kept loose in a backyard I can’t even believe he survived three years! That was a rescue to me, I guess
