My dad sowed some wheat grass seeds and they should be read for Moshu in 10-15 days. I read that wheat grass can be fed to bunnies, so I am really, really happy about adding something vital to her food intake. I would be happier if I can turn that wheat grass into hay.. Have any of you tried that ? Give me some insight.

In the coming days, we’ll also grow barley grass for her and if possible, then oat grass too.

I just plant wheat grass in pots and let them nom it. They love digging, hopping, climbing and working for their grass!

Next we are planting barley in 2-3 days. By the second week of August..we’ll have it ready.

Anyone else here made home-made hay ?

              Hay!
I haven’t made hay from wheatgrass, but my roommates are always buying wheatgrass for smoothies, not using it, then letting it die and throwing it out. It’s more than my bunny can eat at once, and I’ve considered simply cutting the wheatgrass and letting it dry so she can have it without any going to waste! But I’m sure drying it into hay it would work! Let me know if it works for you, and I’ll try it too!

The seeds have started germinating..it will take some weeks till they reach a length where I can cut them. We’ve sown only two pots so far. If the experiment is successful, we will sow 2-3 more. I’ll reply on this thread or PM you to tell the results.
