  Wha wha what? How could these guys not be prosecuted for SOMETHING? ANYTHING? Seriously, are they not in jail? It sounds like that in the petition.

  Why is the petition being sent to a city counselor? Deciding who to prosecute is up to the prosecutor’s office or district attorney in what ever jurisdiction this took place in.

  One of the comments said “found the names, they were in Britain”. Different countries handle things differently. Around here, the only reason to send it to a city counselor would be to get that counselor to support creating a local law, that or for support for a law that’s not enforced. Animal cruelty here is illegal but I don’t know what the punishment is. Seems to me these guys should be handled in the same manner that they handled that poor bunny. . . .

  That’s right. It happened in Seaham, County Durham in UK. I’m not familiar with how the law works there.

  England can be a little light on prosecuting sometimes, probably the petition is to try to push them into punishing rather than slapping on the wrist. Even over here, sometimes animal cruelty just gets you probation and a fine if it was your first offense.

  I knew it! I should have just signed the petition and not read the story. I got through the first paragraph – that was way too much for me. Guess what is gonna be on my mind when I try to fall asleep tonight. I am just sick!
